It was somewhat better than awful, but not as good as ok.
The special effects (especially Sandman) were excellent. Better than that in Sandman's case. But the people stuff was sub-average, and I found myself not caring about any of them about three-quarters of the way through the movie.
People were popping up out of their seats before it was over--there's a scene that looks like the end, but there's one more scene.
I will be celebrating the completion of my last ever undergraduate assessment with people on my course, after 8 hours of listening to people's dissertation's presentations (and, y'know, giving my own). :)
We tried to go today but everyone else in the Basingstoke area had the same idea 10 minutes before us, followed by everyone leaving the car part 10 minutes before us.
Just as well we had a Big Finish CD to listen to while we queued.
It was more that, despite very little reaction to Peter's kiss, MJ's kiss was apparently worth at least 20 men in the theater calling her a fucking whore at the top of their lungs (including the guy sitting next to me).
Despite that, most people seemed to be angrily shocked when she got hit though.
It was o.k. The eye-candy was very nice as befits the budget. I have liked that characters in this franchise are not immune to death, unlike the case in comics.
It's amazing how audience reaction can completely alter the tone of a scene (referring to Bernard).
Parts of it came across as supers-group-therapy; too much angsting.
There were cringeworthy bits (uh, Travolta).
It was a satisfying ending.
I think three is a good number and that they should stop now.

I got it from someone else who had been given it by the creator who is apparently "happy to share".
As it's the name of my lj, it made wonderful "found art" for me.

Glad the conference went well. And that it's raining less where you are...

Audience reaction to a specific scene still has me shaken though.
