Define smart. I'm pretty smart but I can be exceptionally dim (or naturally blonde, as I like to say!) sometimes. Intelligence does not always equate with commonsense. *lol*

One of my friends is scarily intelligent but failed all his exams due to nerves. So he's never passed a single test in his life, but he's so sharp it scares me sometimes. I think it's subjective. *shrug*

I think some bits are subjective. And it can be quite compartmentalised. People can be very smart in areas they pay attention to, but not even realise that other types of smart are even learnable. And obviously other factors live nervousness can affect things as well.

But I also think that there's a clear "This person is very smart"/"This person isn't" when it comes to abstract intellectual areas.

My commonsense is overriden by my emotions more than I'd like. But that's probably a good thing in the long run :->

I'm what you might call 'book smart'. And I have got a very high IQ. But I still wouldn't count myself among the most intelligent people I know.

I tend to trust my emotions and my intuition - I don't think being emotional is a bad thing at all. :)

Mine have led me into the occassional remarkably stupid act and some very dumb choices. But I'm working on fine-tuning them rather than ignoring them.

I'm now curious to meet you at some point and find out how you come across in person. Edinburgh's not that big, it's bound to happen at some point :->

If it helps, I think ishkhara was on my LJ friends list for at least a year before we spoke in person. Even though almost everyone I knew in Edinburgh knew her too. And we were often in the same club and on one occasion, the same room ;-)

So it could take a while, just to warn you.

I believe I somehow failed to meet her even when walking along with the road with Erin, who was shouting "HEY! TRACEY!" at the top of her voice, when we saw iskhara on the other side of the street ;-)
