Three (or Four, depending on how you count) days in Cornwall with surliminal later, I'm back - with slightly sunburnt shoulders, sand in my rucksack, and slightly more sleep achieved than usual.

Eden Project was pretty (recommended if you like plants and geodesic domes, not if you don't), the beach was great (I played beach tennis, got knocked about by 3-foot waves and read lots of "Professional .Net Framework 2.0") and I had some very nice food, including duck in a strawberry sauce, which worked surprisingly well.

Back in the country since 3pm, and now dashing back out to play D&D over at Hugh's. Aaaah, it's a hard life.

eduard_green and tisme seem to have been looking after the place well (due to unfortunate circumstances tisme has to move out of her flat for a month while they replace joists with ones that aren't rotten, so she's kipping on the sofa and her cat Spike is engaging Denver in a mass glaring contest. Score is currently 176 - 144).

(Not even slightly caught on with LJ yet - if something exciting has happened in the last few days then do let me know).

How is D&D going? I am still not sold on the system but I know Hugh is a great GM.

It's going well. George (and to a less extent I) requested some encounters which put us further in danger, with threats we'd have to think about harder if we didn't want to die.

Which has led to us being in the sewers under our home city (Cimbar) fighting swarms of ghostly rats that suck our strength away, with almost no magic points left between us, and the sounds of something huge moving in the distance.

It sounds like fun alright. I'm not sure Hugh is a "lack of danger" GM anyway. Look at the death rate in Lo5R!

Without wanting to step into a dead man's boots, so to speak... IIRC George is off to AU at some point? In which case, would there be an opening for a new player?

We won't even be thinking about what we're doing after George leaves until late September - but I'll bear you in mind when putting together the next game (we may well switch from D&D when he goes, or not).

God, you poor thing-I really do feel for you. Thankfully the hell is almost over for us-I'm going away tomorrow and by the time I get back on Wednesday evening my house ought to have been finally ressurected. We *hope*.

Not entirely. Or, in fact, mostly - some are straight from WoTC. Some are even completely unreleased from WoTC. There is even a section of blank D20 stationary :P. What does 7.6 gigs give you?
