I've tried burning DVDs with Nero and it's shit - converting from AVIs either leaves it blocky/jerky or the sound badly out of synch. Can anyone recommend a decent solution for converting AVI files to DVDs? (I can convert to MPEG fairly easily, if that helps)

Strangely enough, I have used Google before :->

I've tried at least three of the bits of software on that list, with varying degrees of success. AVI2DVD was the worst, largely because it doesn't create a menu for you.

The others largely have limitations in the free versions that make it hard to tell if they're going to work for a decent length movie without me paying for them (or downloading them, which will also take hours).

I'm hoping someone with some experience will be able to give me some pointers.

I quite like Roxio Easy Media Creator. Not sure what recent versions of Nero have been like, but Roxio does pretty much everything Nero does and has a nice, intuitive, DVD creation suite.

Its a bit of a memory hog tho'.

I converted some AVIs to DVDs a few years ago, with some decent results (and a menu) - unfortunately I don't remember what I used, but what I do know is it came from that list.

(yeah, I know, it's actually not all that much help, and there's more stuff on the list than when I used it myself.)
