This pretty much sums up how I feel about The Onion.

Wow. But 45 years of this (http://www2.warnerbros.com/madmagazine/files/onthestands/ots_423/lighterside.html)?

They're kind of brave about who they're pegging for repetition. :)

No kidding. The irony of Mad magazine making all these observations wasn't quite enough to make my head explode, but it got pretty close. At least the Onion manages to be relatively intelligent most of the time.

Dude, there's a phrase in da hood regarding such things.

PLAYA-HATA. (PLAY-uh HATE-uh)

Means tearing someone else down for having a formula that works for them better than yours works for you.

The Onion's not as funny as back in the day, but then again, music's not as good, t.v.'s not as good, everybody sells out or cashes in, and nobody likes change, so...

It's all good, hombre.

Or, "Area Bassist Fellated". I kinda liked that one, too. ;)

It's very true, The Onion generally has amusing headlines, but the articles tend to be rather repetitive.

Maybe I'm just more of a "repetition fan" than you. I think it's great still, and the running gags get more funny instead of less funny for me. I think it's the same reason I like Jerkcity and the running gags on Somethingawful so much.

And yeah, at least it hasn't met the ugly fates of Mad or National Lampoon or just disappeared like Spy!
