Jan. 14th, 2006 10:32 amThere's a fascinating video here of a new Japanese musical instrument. It's a touch-screen with pitch on the vertical axis and time on the horizontal one, allowing patterns to be set up and then left to play while more are added on top.
The technology behind it isn't anything groundbreaking, but it's well put together - I can see the grandchildren of this device being very popular.
The first half is a demo, the second is a performance.
