All spooked out

So, this guy, right, he finds a camera in the woods.  And posts the photos from it online.

Here

Now that's some spooky stuff.

Damn, yes it is.

Especially the catspiders.

[identity profile] octopoid-horror.livejournal.com 2004-08-31 03:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Yep.

An ooky-spooky ghost.

*makes ghosty noises*

eep!
can see it now

*shiver*

Well I can't! I saw two people, but no ghosts. Which picture's the ghost in?

[identity profile] derumi.livejournal.com 2004-08-31 04:41 pm (UTC)(link)
pshot19.jpg, what looks like eyes on the left. The picture right before the one of the forester's tower. It could be light coming through the leaves, but it looks brighter than the rest of the ambient light at that level.

These picture sequences look Silent Hill-ish.

[identity profile] stillcarl.livejournal.com 2004-08-31 04:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, yes. Well spotted. I only saw a little man hanging from the broken branch in that one. :-)

Actually, it doesn't look like there's any leaves for light to come through there. (Brighten the photo to see what I mean.) So unless it's two holes in the tree-trunk, it's, umm, a bit of a mystery...

[identity profile] derumi.livejournal.com 2004-08-31 05:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I didn't spot it at first (someone in the photo thread made a comment about it), I'm too used to seeing outdoorsie pictures of twisted looking woods so that I take most things I see in them as normal. I guess those branches did look like a little man, but they look normal once you enlarge the picture.

Yeesh. You're right, that rationalisation falls apart when you brighten the picture.

Very cool. Reminds me a bit of Abandoned Places.

[identity profile] rollick.livejournal.com 2004-08-31 04:18 pm (UTC)(link)
I was expecting a Blair Witch joke twist at the end. That aside, some of those pictures are absolutely gorgeous.

MF but this is some spooky sh*t. Thanks for posting that AT NIGHT, bro. ;-)

[identity profile] birdofparadox.livejournal.com 2004-08-31 05:02 pm (UTC)(link)
I take it that this is a site I'm really not allowed to look at for everyone's benefit, right?

[identity profile] arkhamrefugee.livejournal.com 2004-08-31 05:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, I figure it like this.. you're three states away from me and an OCEAN away from Andrew.

But if I were you, I'd go over the pictures and THEN read the commentary where they start pointing out the looming figures, the skulls and everything.

I wouldn't be looking at it while in the house alone, I'll say that.

[identity profile] derumi.livejournal.com 2004-08-31 08:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Something Awful has a forum thread on it.

[identity profile] johnbobshaun.livejournal.com 2004-09-01 05:59 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it originated on something awful and the guy owned up to it being photoshopped after about 2 pages. That threads worth following through, especially the bit where they decide to wind up other forums (such as the GTA peeps) :-)

[identity profile] drjon.livejournal.com 2004-09-01 06:46 am (UTC)(link)

You've spoilt the fun now.

[identity profile] red-cloud.livejournal.com 2004-09-05 01:41 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm impressed. A bit too obviously Blair-Witchy perhaps, but the photoshopping is subtle enough to escape notice except perhaps on the semi-conscious level.
