I totally misunderstand the notion of racism. Gypsies (known these days as travelers) are of the same race as the "white Europeans"), are not they. Well, otoh, race is a social construct. People who look different than you, are assigned a different race. Attitudes may vary. I remember in the North (Russia, Sweden) boys and girls with dark hair - a rare kind - were viewed as more interesting than the regular boring blonds.

Anything where people go "Those people are intrinsically different" and treat them differently because of it.

Romani (I 'm of the blood myself- quarter Romani) are more complex than that with ancestry reaching back to northern India.

I'm not sure that's quite right, is it? I mean, this would be true of homophobia.

Good point. By "people", I was thinking of when you refer to a group as being "a people", which is generally by lineage or cultural grouping. Otherwise, yes, it would cover homophobia. Or sexism.
