When I am Emperor anyone selling bowls, plates, etc will have to certify whether you can microwave food in them without them getting hotter than the food.

Is microwave transparency really too much to ask?

Are you also planning to start teaching people not to use metal pots in the microwaves?

Wow. I did not know that there are any other kind! Everything I possess that I use in the microwave gets hotter than the food, even the pyrex glass oven containers.

Mine is a combo oven, can also grill and do normal oven, so I CAN and do use metal containers - just never in microwave mode.

What I wish is that the old granny that I inherited the saucers from when I bought this house, and which I use to feed my cat, had bought one single solitary one that doesn't have a metal decorative band. But nope. Every single one. So if his food is too cold (because cheap fridges are crap and my expensive one was also crap in a different way - i.e. ceased to cool), all I can do is use warm water to try to make it more palatable.

(I never microwave in plastic containers, beyond one minute defrosting to get stuff to come out of them to go in a glass or ceramic container)
