3: people are very bad at identifying when other people are attempting to flirt with them, is the fault in the performance or the recognition? (or the whole concept of flirtation, lol, what is with this plausible deniability nonsense, normalise the directness of "nice boots, wanna fuck?")

if only. sadly these days we seem to have gone the other direction, thanks to american puritanism, of everything being cause for getting cancelled.
it's always amusing seeing videos of women complaining men don't make the first move any more, and the response always being "but this is what you wanted". :D

Can't say I've noticed such complaints, but I did really enjoy going clubbing on Friday night and dancing for hours during which I neither experienced nor witnessed a single attempt to sexually harass anyone. Refreshingly different from my youth where getting groped by strangers seemed to be the price of admission to dancing in public, and I'm overwhelmingly in favour.
