Lufthansa and Meridiana still manage to make the 'old' system work well enough.

Thanks for the signal boost on Skirt.

We have only one ticket available for Monday now. Looks like the show might sell out, which is terrific for an amatuer group doing a new work by a new writer.

Ha, I remember when I was a kid, my mother used to say that she'd read the Torygraph if she found it on a train, or in a hotel or something, because even though the opinions were right-wing, it was well-written.

That's certainly changed!

9. I read about that particular quiet atrocity. There's a similar-minded bookstore here in Ottawa that I plan to do some business with soon out of solidarity. Also, to make sure they're still there.

Thanks for the link about illusory understanding. I found that very interesting, especially when it came to political debate. It certainly rings true for a lot of the debating I have witnessed - never mind my own internal feeling that I'm often on shaky ground when it comes to policy detail!

People frequently think they understand things when they must know how to use them

Huh. Yes. I hadn't thought to generalise our generally poor understanding of bicycles to our generally poor understanidng of ethics...

> Agreeing violently about political opinions is a major social activity. Groups of friends get together and regurgitate political explanations they’ve heard on TV or read on the web. This reinforces certainty and the illusion of understanding.

Ha, yes!

Love 'the list' ^_^

Also - your question: Are there any right wing newspapers which are attached to reality?

answer - no - not any more. Truth & reality do not 'sell' like they used to.
