Well, the Tories clearly don't care about human beings (except for Tory voters). Why should they care about elephants?

It's been a very long time since my almost physics major/physics minor, but MOND makes sense simply because the combination of looking for dark matter for 30+ years and finding nothing (beyond ruling out an increasingly large number of possibilities), and the introduction of dark energy feels to me a whole lot like adding ever more epicycles in Ptolemaic astronomy.
