For you amusement, a trailer which literally screams in your face, "Look! I have CGI! Lots of CGI!!!"

Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Planet.

Actually, I'm probably going to see this at the cinema, because I'm a sad old adrenaline junky with no reverence for the classics.

And while I'm talking about trailers, here's one for all you laides out there. The Good Girl. I'll be the one sitting three rows from the front, sad old emotion junkie that I am.

I know that it's all illusion and PR, but I have a soft spot for Jennifer Aniston. It's not that I fancy her (I've never fancies any of the friends women except for, fleetingly, Courtney Cox), but I liked her in Office Space and I like Brad Pitt's taste a lot (The Mexican, Fight Club, Twelve Monekys, Se7en, Interview witht he Vampire, True Romance, Kalifornia). Oh good grief, she was in the Iron Giant too. That tears it. I may even forgive her for being in Leprechaun.

The Two Towers

I just got a link (courtesy of the BBC) to the trailer AOL has for the Two Towers. I suspect AOL will cut this as soon as they notice, so enjoy it while you can, it'll be available worldwide soon enough.

Two notes:
1) Ooh, that looks good.
2) The music during the second half (the violin bits) is by the Kronos Quartet and is from the movie Requiem for a Dream. I'd recommend you all saw it, but only if you have strong stomachs and don't mind being horrifically depressed.

A cure for salesmen

The phone just rang and someone asked to speak to "The Homeowner".

I replied "He's on holiday for a week."

He came back with "I'll phone back then."

If I'd known that salesmen were that easy to get rid of, I'd have started doing that aaages ago.

Beliefs

I'm in discussion elsewhere about beliefs. Having actually gone to the bother of writing it down, I figured I should store it somewhere in case I forget what I believe. On top of the original I'm going to ramble on about philosophical underpinnings and other waffle.
I like philosophical waffe. Oh yes. )
