I'd like to do that, since on the rare occasions that people give me cheques I tend to have to make a special trip into the town centre to pay them in, and it would be very nice to be able to do the same job by walking twenty paces to the postbox near my house. But my bank doesn't support it as far as I know.
Oddly, it's the only pay I can pay in cheques with Smile as branches of the co-op bank are few and far between. I just haven't seen a cheque in ages... until one arrived in the post, 10 minutes after I filled in the poll!
*blinks* I hadn't known that, I assumed that practice had died out at least 20 years ago - well that changes one answer. I also assumed that it meant getting bank statements by mail.
