Amusement

There's a petition here to have banks be nicer to those poor widdle buy-to-let people who pushed up the prices, invested money they didn't have, and now find they can't afford to pay their mortgages.

Check further down the list to see some _very_ funny names.  I'm not convinced that "Mr Greedy O Ver Leveraged-twit" is an actual name :->

Speaking as a buy to let person, I want to start a petition protesting this petition.

I have always been in a different situation than the people you describe because my Dad's a landlord and had explained the reality of landlord life to me: so many of these people thought they could make a quick buck this way.

But do also bear in mind that many people with buy to let mortgages aren't actually buying to let: our last one was on our own house in Reading which we couldn't sell. To rent it when we had to move, we had to have a buy to let mortgage. And note, we couldn't sell it: this wasn't a question of too high a price, it simply attracted *no* interest, when Reading was hit with a preview of the Recession in 2005.

That site should really come with an automatic 'We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to ignore the above petition' section.
