Back of fag-packet calculations

Have just spent 30 seconds playing with Excel, and discovered that on the 29th of September 2008 I will have lived half my life in Scotland.

I thought it was this year, which goes to show my maths skills aren't what you'd hope of the employee of large financial company.

In any case I now have a year to think of some way of celebrating this.

A grand tour of the highlands and possibly tying in with your 36th? There's more to Scotland than Stirling and Edinburgh. :-)

Play the bagpipes in a glen, up a mountain, in the rain, waving a sporran tied to a claymore and sipping whiskey between bites of deep fried haggis?

Deep fried haggis pakora mars bars surely? While moaning about the bastard English?

Maths != arithmetic - at least, that's how I get out of similar situations when 3*8 turns out to be different every time....and deep-fried mars bars along w' haggis!

Until you die you won't know where you lived half your life. You may have to move back to England next year then live to be 140.

Of course once you're dead you won't be able to know where you lived half your life.

Therefore you'll never know where you lived half your life, but you can celebrate a temporary estimation of it.

On September 2nd this year, I will have lived in England longer than I lived in Ireland....don't know if it feels weird, or if I'm just expecting it to feel weird.
