Just what I didn't need this morning

Hit the on button on my PC this morning and nothing happened.  Well, the fan started up inside it, but that was all.

So I turned it off and on again a bunch of times.  With the same result.

Having then used Ed's computer to check email, I regained some enthusiasm, pulled the side off of my PC, stared intently at everything looking just fine, and hit the on switch, to see if any fans didn't start up, which might have given me a hint.

Everything came on just fine.

I hate computers.

Yar, there be a severe gremlin infestation at your house :P.

Be glad you didn't take apart a monitor, test everything green, break out an oscilloscope, test everything black, find nothing wrong whatsoever, put it back together with great difficulty several hours later, and find it just *worked*....

My name is Douglas and I hate computers.
I have hated computers for 20 years.

Computers Anomynous...

It's either, that your cable was loose, which is unlikly.
Or your memory is dead, which would give a nice long beep, so not that then.

Or processor, thats nice and silent, mostly, or the most common cause that your mainboard is overheating because of too much electricity, which cause your capacitors to melt, blow up, or generally do bad things.

So if you have :

2 harddisks, 2 cdroms, a new graphics card, dozens of usb stuff, plus printer, plus etc...

Then unplug some of the junk. Or change your mainboard.
