Write for your life

I'm intrigued by National Novel Writing Month. It's not a month dedicated to persuading people to write novels, it's a site dedicated to the idea that everyone should write a novel. In a month. 50,000 words in 30 days. That's less than 2000 words a day, surely that's feasible?

I'm feeling strangely tempted.

1,666 words/day. Yup.

I did it last year, and actually finished the damned novel on time. I couldn't believe it. I haven't looked at it since.

But damn, it felt good. And afterwards, it feels great to say "Back in 2001, I wrote a novel."

Do it! I'll do it again this year.

I did it last year. It was *great* fun, much less stress than you'd think it would be, and a really worthwhile experience. I made the word count, but didn't finish the novel :)

I know several people who attempted it last year.

http://books.ravenblack.net/ for the results of one.

I'm going to do it this year. :}
