Work out what the producers intended, identify the target audience and then review it in the manner that will point the correct people in its direction and warn everyone else away:

Resident Evil 2: Apocalypse is as magnificently stupid as you'd expect the sequel to a film based on a computer game franchise to be. It's far better than the first Resident Evil, and its more fun than the Tomb Raider movies, if only because you get not one by two semi-clothed, back-flipping beauties for your money. You also get ravenous corpses, undead dogs, exploding helicopters, a motorbike crashing through a stained-glass window, and a genetically-engineered, bazookea-wielding mega-zombie, plus an encouraging measure of anti-corporate subversion. If you're male and too young to get into the film without fake ID, it could well be the greatest thing you've ever seen in your life.

The film was clearly quite silly, but so was the first. I don't think anyone went there expecting anything other than what they got, and I think they did the second film much better than the first.

Oh God yes.

I couldn't believe it when I found out it was Sienna Guillory, who made no impression on me as a blonde (and yes, I'm sure she's devastated).

It's funny (for about 5 minutes) to hang out at the IMDB boards and hear everyone ranting against Milla Jovovich because she's Paul WS Anderson's girlfriend and her character wasn't in the games.

RE:A made a fun double bill with Sky Captain, anyway.

I adore Milla butthought she was better in the first one.

Paul WS Anderson is a spawny git - making carp but fun movies and bonking Milla J. He surely leads a charmed life.
