4. They've been told and told this is the case but they simply don't listen beacuse it doesn't fit their own pet views that children can't possibly know their own minds.

I knew when I was five years old and later taught a lot of kids who knew their own minds damn well! When you're teaching kids who are terminally ill or seriously disabled, they know their own minds, trust me!
