An aggravating factor will lead to one of two outcomes 1) a heavier sentence or 2) a more appropriate sentence implying that a heavier sentence is a less appropriate sentence.

(It did seem odd to me, as I can't see how an offence being aggravated might meant it deserved a lower sentence. "You did a bad thing, but you did it for misogynistic reasons so it's not so bad.")

I'm not sure that misogyny is actually covered by the new legislation.

Huh. You appear to be correct - although there is an enabling power to allow it to be added afterwards.

I assume so that their working group can decide the best way forward. I hope they do so quickly.
