I agree with you on women-only spaces. I take a lead from many women I know, particularly ones who have been in LGBT spaces for years.

Unfortunately I've heard women take both sides of this issue, and I'm not including the ones who think trans women are really men in disguise so that they can infiltrate women-only spaces: ludicrous and self-evidently false if you know any trans women. These are quite different arguments. No way can I possibly march in and say "A is right and B is wrong."
