I was always a fan of the Skeleton Liberation Front in one of my more gonzo D&D games. They were a terrorist/freedom-fighter organisation of skeletons dedicated to releasing their fellows from their undeserved, unjust, and illegal imprisonment. It was a lot of fun joyously shouting slogans like "death to the fleshies," "meat is prison." and "freedom!" at the [very bewildered at this point] players, who were more used to silent or creepy undead skeletons.
