Lib-Dems name their price for a deal with Labour: electoral reform, no referendum

I think this is something like my preferred outcome out of all the outcomes that are at all plausible

I was furious that the big unions (including mine, the GMB, which never balloted us on the issue) blocked PR at the last Labour conference but it seems most of them have changed their minds now.

Wow, it looks as if the LDs have actually learned their lesson from the coalition. That's amazing. Perhaps it's partly due to the fact that old Nick, who put them in that hole, is long gone.

Chances of the LibDems winning more seats UK-wide than the SNP win in Scotland alone at the next election ...?

Frankly, I expect Labour's total refusal to negotiate with the SNP to ensure that the next government in Westminster is a Tory one. The Tories won't get a majority of the seats but they'll be the largest party, and as we've seen with Edinburgh City Council, the LibDems and even Labour would rather cut a deal with the Tories than deal with a rival center-left party.

That is a scary thought.
We will have to press the candidates on that before the election.
