It's really nice having them both sitting in normal seats. I'm going to take apart the high chair this weekend!

what a world we live in. our family is the same. it's cute that they have their own kid's table. also, love kim's convenience - great show!

It's an IKEA coffee table and I'm delighted by how well it works for them!

we weren't allowed to watch tv at dinner. we weren't even allowed to read books during dinner.

Yeah. Same here. I *like* paying attention to my food. :-).

There's a notion that mealtimes together is an important kind of social bonding behaviour in humans. If everyone is in their own little world, each watching something different - that might be less so. Whether that lack matters or not, I dunno. I guess maybe not so much, if there's plenty of other joint activities.

We spend lots of time other than this doing things together. And Gideon can't talk.

When they're older then we might do more chatty mealtimes. But right know we're all exhausted by the time we've got dinner on the table.

Us either, but as their exhausted parents like to watch TV over dinner, and we spend lots of other time talking to each other, we're good with this.
