2. That's helpful, as far as it goes. In Canada, sprucing up our rail network's going to take a lot of work. Including this:

The damage being caused by the climate emergency's effects is making the process harder than we should have wanted it to be, as you can see. I expect that the British Isles' nations are going to have a harder time of it in some ways, given the scale of the network there and the fact that they're on islands.

I read a thread on Reddit about the DARPA news. Someone pulled out the paper and determined that it may be more sensational than true.

I assume this is true for 100% of news about warp bubbles. The physical theory is real so plausibly I'll be wrong eventually, but optimistic reports will always massively outnumber real discoveries.... :)
