2. Grateful for the reminder.

3. *assorted obscenities aimed at the appointees now in charge at BBC who made THAT happen!*

4. Putinism via the back door, right?

5. Good.

Saris are super sources of nice textiles. You can get five to seven metres of generally very reasonably-priced per metre high-quality printed silk, which can make an entire multi-part outfit if you are or have a decent dressmaker. In general I can get trousers, a blouse and a long coat/jacket out of an average-sized sari.

They're also nice informal window treatments for the more Bohemian interior, though if you are in a tropical climate, you should use ones made of synthetic fibres, because they stand up to the UV a lot better. I was told about someone who wanted to hang delicate filmy (expensive!) silk without a lining, against all advice from actual locals, and the material basically faded and weakened within a couple of years.

The BBC has largely been captured now, particularly the News and current affairs programmes.
