One of the big advantages of nursery is that they do really messy play. Because we were never ever going to do this with him at home...

It looks like flour mixed with cocoa, like what a child would pull out in the kitchen. Especially with the spatula-looking thing in his hand. Or is it sand? Do they have that there because playing in dirt and sand is considered healthy for the immune system? Even so, I'm still surprised they'd allow a mess like that *indoors*. But at least the kids are having fun with it!

(passing by from the FFL) I retired from working in infant daycare when the pandemic started, but I too would be interested to know what that is. And if it really has oats in it, or is that what chocolate and flour do when mixed together.

Must say, I do miss the pudgy hands and schlumpy torsos of the pre-toddlers.

There are compensations for losing the puppy stage. Of course there's also the t-shirt one of our toddlers wore one day: 'Help! I've just learned to talk and I can't stop!'
