It is a real thing that much developed-world medical and other research is based on the incorrect assumption that the male Caucasian minority is the human default. This has obvious problems, especially when such research is applied in the real world to everyone else. So I myself would not oppose research that takes into account genetic differences in populations, just on the ground that they might be "race science". As far as I am aware, the "Asian flush" response to alcohol is pretty much confined to people of East Asian descent, and while this is a comparatively trivial example, it's surely not the only one.
