Now that's disturbing in its own ways. Protecting yourself is definitely a sensible thing to do. What Google's doing to other people as a consequence of this is an unwelcome side effect.

I remember getting very confused on statistics for effects on different ages. I *think* what happens was, I remember some stats from spring last year from China, that for children the hospitalisation rate was about 1/100, but recently seeing stats that the death rate was below 1/100,000 which was way better than I expected. And I think my confusion was partly that I'd assumed a ratio of hospitalisations to deaths of about 10:1, but maybe that was for older ages, and that even for children it varied quite a bit by age.

So I guess we might be a in a situation where a UK/US "let all the children get infected" strategy doesn't lead to a death rate that leads to the public being unable to ignore it, but may have a hospitalisation rate that would be impossible to provide for. I can't remember how those numbers applied to vaccinated adults getting delta either.

Genuine lab-grown eyes that work would make a fortune for whoever perfects the process.
