Vaccination

[personal profile] danieldwilliam 2021-04-13 11:53 am (UTC)(link)
Scotland has vaccinated approximately 1/3rd of 40-49 1st dose and about 1/10 2nd dose.

Presumably vulnerable clinical groups, care and medical staff and carers.

I guess there are quite a lot of eligible carers in that 40+ group. Lots of people with elderly parents.

Do you think people in the 40-49 group are more likely to have chronically ill partners?

The #4 article actually makes a lot of sense, even though the title is somewhat misleading/confusing.

Health: Vaccination Note

According to covidvax.live stats a few seconds before I posted this reply, Canada's just reached the "20% partially vaccinated" mark in the last day or so. 2.18% fully vaccinated. At the present pace, we might get to 70 % fully vaccinated by the start of October. Whether that's helpful by then...?

I have not seen the tiger vs. goose video, but am I right in saying that you rarely go wrong betting on the goose?

The new analytical techniques in archaeology are producing huge amounts of interesting data.

And that's all creating a lot of new context in which to analyse individual sites.

As the technology improves I think we're getting a cube function of more objects which can be subject to extra analysis; more accurate, deeper data from each object; and more context in which to interpret the extra data from more objects.

Ground LIDAR has been a revelation for research in archaeology in Southeast Asia, which is little-known globally because most of it is not in English. Entire lost cities in Cambodia and elsewhere have been found using it.
