There is a vast range of wedding outfits in Southeast Asia, since every ethnic group in every country has its own. Search "Brunei royal weddings" for magnificence in a stratospheric class of its own....

There is some scope even in the Anglo style for fancy waistcoats and cravats, and suits in non-funereal colours (search "Oswald Boateng suits").

It's true that many people on-line have a limited understanding of life in the non-Western world...

Yes - I wore a purple fancy waistcoat to my own first wedding. And didn't wear a suit at all to the second one.
