HOW do you make an article about proscriptive punctuation and NOT include audio (for everything) ??!! one actual good use for it! But regional variation is surely expected... and anyway I'll call SQL squirrel if I want to and treat the WHO as an acronym. (eye-oss; soo-doo; Lee-nux; lib; mac-oss-ex)

Someone else who calls SQL "squirrel"! I thought I was the only one. I gave up the habit some years ago, but I always thought it was a much more mnemonic pronunciation...

When I got to "Mac OS X and iPhone X", I didn't think about the X/ten issue and assumed it was going to be oss/oh-ess again for the first one. But I couldn't think of any mispronunciations of "iPhone".

Then I had an epiphany.
