Since the supermarkets instituted limited entry and queuing, no shortage of loo rolls or anything much else come to that. We picked up a replacement pack in Aldi yesterday and there were plenty.

Odd, that, innit?

Staying on this quoted paragraph for a moment:

“While Captain Crozier clearly went outside the chain of command, his dismissal at this critical moment – as the Sailors aboard the U.S.S. Theodore Roosevelt are confronted with the COVID-19 pandemic – is a destabilizing move that will likely put our service members at greater risk and jeopardize our fleet’s readiness."

I'm not sure that removing him wasn't specifically intended to destabilize the crew situation. The Navy Secretary is currently one of DT-45's "acting" appointees, right?

TP> but I am using more (of mine) because I'm using none (of work's); and I might need to not shop for 2 weeks to isolate, it's only prudent to have a spare 9 pack or two (although we did that pre Brexit, so no extra buy this time), but once I have a stockpile I don't need to buy it again, and buying returns to not much more than normal.

Maybe if the US government hadn't been sitting with their thumbs up their asses until it was too late, they wouldn't be screwing other countries out of supplies now.

I live in Michigan and we're 3rd in the country for most cases right now. And it's still going up. I've barely seen other people with masks when I've gone outside.

I'm exhausted from being worried all the time. *sigh*

It's certainly something that people will remember afterwards.

A washable cloth mask won't protect you from infection if you're seriously exposed, but it may help you not infect other people casually, and it will help you stop touching your face (and possibly signal other people to stay further away). And it will save the medical-grade stuff for hospitals. If you have something non-woven to act as a filter, there are layered versions that can be made, where the non-woven bit can be slipped in. They're all small enough to hand-sew.

The US Navy does have some challenges.
