Presenteeism isn't only a problem in the UK. My organisation allows working from home so there is no excuse for coming to work sick and infecting everyone else. For serious illnesses it is not an issue. But for things like colds, the most successful approach so far remains, "Don't you dare to come to work sick and infect ME."
