I suspect you two spend a lot more!

I spend quite a lot of time each week side-by-side with my children, does that count? (sometimes watching stuff together, sometimes walking to/from school, sometimes going to skating / library / random errands in town together on the bus)

Also I read to them, but not as much as I think I should.

I think I do both. I have internal monologue most of the time, but sometimes it's just sort of concepts, I think?

Average Parent Spends Just 5 Hours Face-To-Face With Their Kids Per Week (I wonder how different this is to a few decades ago)

Most studies show that modern parents spend more time with their kids than their own parents did, so.

I remember being horrifyied by small number of minutes per week the average father spent interacting with their children when ours were small. It was less than an hour but I can't remember the exact figur - about 25 minutes I think. But then I also remember how few of the kids classmates routinely ate a meal with their parents - it as usually special occasions only.
