Martin Amis on porn
2 year old Guardian article that Martin Amis wrote on the porn industry. I've gone steadily off of porn in recent times anyway, but even if I hadn't, this would certainly speed the process.

But I think that in retrospect it wouldn't speed the process. I've been going off of porn due to increased empathy and higher recognition of the people involved as, well, people.
The article didn't really tell me anything I didn't already know, I'm just in a different place now to where I was last time IO read abouit these things.

Yeah - for every 'Jenna', there's a hundred or more girls getting (insert lewd word - fucked, screwed, shafted) by the porn business. That they can legally (is it legal?) film what Amis was describing, in terms of women getting beat up during sex, disturbs me. Especially the one who asked for it to stop, and was ignored. Notsogood.
Thankfully, I've never seen porn of that ilk. Very disturbing.

And I've noticed a trend towards more disturbing porn as time goes on. With so much competition online it seems the way to make yourself stand out is to provide things that are more and more degrading.
I'm hoping that there'll be a backlash at some point.
