Martin Amis on porn

2 year old Guardian article that Martin Amis wrote on the porn industry. I've gone steadily off of porn in recent times anyway, but even if I hadn't, this would certainly speed the process.

heh

I think porn's motto should be "Don't think. You'll ruin it for yourself."

As an aside, that's pretty crazy you can read such stuff in the Guardian (I assume it wasn't online-only). The NY Times, Washington Post and Wall Street Journal would never grace their pages with a gem like: "What makes it in today's market place is reality. And assholes are reality. And pussies are bullshit."

Oh yes, I remember that article. Yes. Um. I would think that if you were the kind of person who was in to watching het porn films, it would have the kind of effect on you that reading an in-depth article on what goes on in a slaughterhouse might have on a carnivore...

God, that was stressful to read.

Can I have the porn you're not using?

The sex industry is an industry like any other. Even after reading the article, I'd still rather suck cock for a living than work for Microsoft.

Yeah, but you didn't tell us why it would speed the process. I can make assumptions, based on the article, but EXPOSITION, man.

It's like show and tell, but without the 'tell'....

Gods, I couldn't even finish that article. I still believe that censorship is wrong, but the slimelords running that business need to be put out of business and there need to be far better laws protecting people acting in porn. I'm guessing, if everything having to do with sex wasn't considered dirty and wrong in the US, the industry would not be as degrading as it is.

Ugh.
