If everyone else's landline has spent as long out of order as ours (over 3 months now, over 7 if you count from our first complaint in this series) I am not surprised.

Only reason i have one in the house is it's a requirement for having an ADSL connection. I can't recall the last time i made an outgoing call on it.

Toilets

The Enterprise in Star Trek didn't seem to have toilets. I suggested in one Usenet discussion on this topic that they used an innovative form of transporter technology to overcome this lack.
