Apparently when you can honestly say that you've got no plans to take VC money, and haven't for a decade, and straight out say users can post whatever legal porn they want, it gets you users.

I guess Tumblr's use of that iffy term 'adult content' reminded a lot of people (myself included) of what happened over on LJ.

They came to deem anything I posted there to be 'adult content' simply because I dared to exist and be who I was what with being trans an'all.

Was I going to prevent some desperate young person from reading something that might save their lives?

No, as it happens. I couldn't sign their new ToS which is why I made DW my home- already being here helped of course.

Yep. As someone on twitter pointed out, the communities that are going to be the first and hardest hit are going to be the LGBTQ and probably by design. :(

Seeing that the new LJ TOS expected me to conduct myself on LJ as if I were living in Russia, and that this was part of it...well, I've got a bunch of friends, trans people akin to yourself. I'm not LGBTQ, but I'm not going to pretend you don't exist and I'm not going to pretend that you're Evil Monsters on the demand of the Putinists and their like when I know damn well that isn't true.
