I've not seen Moana, but going by the clips available, Maui's pretty grotesque. And obesity's a modern problem, not a Polynesian trait. Disney should've considered this, given they must've known there's a 1926 movie called Moana and set in Samoa...

That's an embellished, shall we say, documentary, but the Samoans are real and while obviously well fed, can hardly be considered fat, let alone obese. As to the coconuts - sigh... How hard can it be not to have screwed this up?
