I think you get bizarre results off a question that asks if someone is slightly racially prejudiced depending on awareness-raising - I mean, I would say that _I_ was slightly racially prejudiced because I recognise that I have some subconscious racial prejudice which I have to work against having it affect my actions, so I'd expect that number to go _up_ when people are more informed and honest about themselves?

In context - the post about fanfic getting critques - appears to have originated in a literary criticism class where the instructor is looking for targets to criticize and fanfic can be found on the 'net, so students don't have to find books in a more-difficult-to-visit library.

If the students had been expected to go to the library ad then write the author of a published work a letter (or e-mail) giving critique the course would have been very different (shorter, I suspect).
