Who wants to see a 1950s housewife on LSD?

In 1956 this unnamed American housewife took LSD at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Los Angeles. This woman's husband was an employee at the hospital and referred her to this study, which was reportedly done for a television program on mental health issues.

And now I feel...odd.

In the 80s I saw a shrink who had written a book on his experiments with putting patients on acid—with their consent, of course. He considered it a valuable therapeutic aid, and I agree with him. Sadly, these experiments can't be done at this time, and possibly never again.

Interestingly, some of the patients he wrote about were famous—although he of course changed their names in the book.
