Because you demanded it! This is me without a beard.

With thanks to Julie for getting out of bed long enough to take the photo,
and then going back to bed and photoshopping it to size and emailing it to
me in the office.

I remember that guy....

P.S. Get a haircut now, you hippy!

[identity profile] naath.livejournal.com 2012-03-08 10:31 am (UTC)(link)
Why remove it? Now you have to go through the irritating early stages of beard growth again (I'm told it's irritating at least).

Well, I rudely asked you why you changed your appearance so abruptness is fine :)

When I shaved I used to find having stubble almost unbearably irritating (no hair was OK, hair is fine, stubble is bad) I sorta assumed that it was like that for men too (itchy scratchy annoying) but I guess I'm dim like that.

Sometimes I get bored with my hair; but the prospect of growing it all out again is preventing me from hacking it all off.

I think the "itchy scratching" stage of a beard growth is common for men, but I've not thought about it; I experience it a bit when I've not shaved at all, but don't normally notice when I'm growing a goatee (maybe it's worse on chin/cheeks, or partially psychosomatic?).

No I could manage a hair cut, although not so soon after losing the beard, otherwise I might start frantically calling the police when you wander around the house.

This long? *gestures*

how long did you have a beard? i'm not sure i've ever noticed it. my mental image of you looks more like the above. :)

beardloss!!!! :-( Oh well, now you remember what you look like without it I suppose.

I like beards, I may have mentioned.

It's difficult for me to comment on the beard/beardless issue because I generally don't notice well people's facial features -- I tend to identify them more by the way they move their body -- but you have strong eyes, nose, mouth, & teeth so I think a beard gives the whole a better balance.

(Note that I've not shaved for something like 30 years and have a probably-too-large full (white) beard that might be too prominent for most aesthetic ideals, but hey, it relieves me of having to look at my face in a mirror every morning.)
