Only the end of the world again

10 years ago, probably at the instigation of Ed* I watched Last Night, about the end of the world. It's not about the people out there saving the world, but about a few average** people trying to live the few days they have left. I love it to bits, and it's better than this trailer makes it look:

I've seen trailers for things like Melancholia (which I fancy), which seems to riff on the same idea. But this seems to be so close that I wonder if they aren't going to end up taken to court over it:

As I like both Steve Carell and Kiera Knightley, I'm still rather tempted though.

*Who loves Callum Keith Rennie, Don McKellar, and canadian film/TV in general.
**Presumably for Canadians.

I did wonder about this--but it does seem a lot more, er, upbeat than Last Night.

OMG, that does look like a classless ripoff of Last Night.

It can't be the same without that perfect cast, especially Don McKellar.

And I will always watch anything with Callum Keith Rennie. Always. My entire family knows that if he's in it, it must be recorded or purchased for me. It's just the rule.

Based solely on those trailers, I'd rather see the upcoming one, even if they did use "107.2" as a valid radio frequency.

As for the first: Sandra Oh! I know her from Grey's Anatomy. :)
