It's not just about the price. It's that Steam's DRM isn't annoying, that I don't have to keep track of the CDs, and that I have all my games under one thing which makes them easy to keep track of. That combined with the fact it does things pretty damn cheap if you're willing to wait and choose your moment, is what makes it the best option.
