LJ and DW will only let certain sites embed iframes, which is what's necessary to stream iPad-friendly video. Vimeo isn't on their white-list yet, so I had to embed the flash version instead.
I thought that in places it was verging towards convincing, and in other places it was pretty terrifying. Particularly when it overlaid teeth on teeth for a Giger-esque effect!
Oh, and that camera is awesome. I love the idea, and I'm fairly sure that if they got it seamless it would sell out.
It seemed the dude had weird facial hair to begin with (reminded me, of all things, of Kar D'Argo and his bizarro cheekbones), so it never really ticked over into Uncanny Valley territory for me.
Once they iron out the tics, the film industry will hire someone other than Andy Serkis for motion capture work!
I remember reading something about this years ago, how porn producers were shoving a lot of money into it, in pursuit of the holy grail, being able to make cheap pornos involving any starlet alive or dead.
