Funniest and sickest thing I've seen in a while is the 'tributes' laid out to Miss Winehouse that use bottles of vodka rather than flowers. Seems akin to leaving tributes in the form of assault rifles in Norway!
I don't see how the Dreamwidth policy is coherent here:
Surely
1) Both Google and Dreamwidth disallow abuse, hate speech, invasion of privacy, illegal content, spam, and impersonation.
and
2) Freedom: We believe in free expression. We will not place limits on your expression, except as required by United States law or to protect the quality and long-term viability of the service (such as removing spam). We will provide you with tools that make creativity and free expression easy. If, at any point, we have to place restrictions on your expression, we will tell you why, and work to find the best solutions possible.
cannot both be true?
Abuse, hate speech (where legal) and impersonation would be allowed by 2 but disallowed by 1.
I mean on this side of the Atlantic, anyone who has ever been on a school trip will tell you that the back seats of a bus are the most sought after, reserved for the coolest of kids. Maybe that was what the driver was trying to enforce: "I'm sorry, you're too cool to sit at the front of the bus. This area is reserved for nerds and teachers."
