I'm having a lot of fun playing with ifttt, which is an incredibly neat web tool for carrying out simple tasks.

I just transferred over duties for posting my Delicious links to Twitter to it. And it took me about thirty seconds to pick "Delicious" off of the inputs, "Twitter" off of the outputs, and choose "Title" and "URL" from the available bits of data to transfer. And I ended up with this:

It's on closed beta at the moment (hawkida got me an invite to see if it would help with my Delicious->LJ postings, which it doesn't quite deal with yet, but I've sent them some feedback on things I'd like to see.) - if you'd like an invite then ask away, I have a couple going spare.

So that's why your Twitter farted then, it went back and grabbed the whole feed not just the new stuff from then on.

After it's bedded in, would be good to know how quick it is at picking the links up, I like Twitterfeed at the moment but this looks more controllable.

It seems that Delicious is to blame for this. I'm playing with a script that reads the Delicious RSS at the moment, and one time in five that I pull it I get a version from over a week ago.

I assume that it got the most recent version the first time, and then shortly thereafter got the older version, noticed a bunch of posts it hadn't posted, and stuck them all on Twitter.

I am rapidly getting fed up with Delicious...

What's annoying me most isn't that there are problems-they're transitioning to new servers, new database, etc. It's the complete lack of communication. If they posted somewhere, anywhere, saying "we're doing some work this week, we expect many errors, sorry", then I'd be fine with pretty much anything, but no feedback or information is poor.

I've logged a defect with them twice, to get generic emails back saying "Please tell us which page you are getting these problems on?" and the support forums are getting no official responses back.

They were supposed to be being bought out - and the transition should have happened by now. But the new people are nowhere to be seen either.

I just emailed Support@Avos to see if that got anywhere. If I don't get a response by tomorrow evening I'll try their press mailbox.
