to jump slightly in here: the SNP didn't think anyone would be stupid enough to vote for a Haymarket termination, so didn't bother to vote at all. Being Anti-tram, this makes quite a lot of sense.
However, given that's what happened, the SNP are faced with allowing a 'solution' that's considerably worse than they expected - to the extent that backing the alternative is the only say so proceed.
I'm sure most people have been in situations where they must do something they don't want to, purely because watching other people fuck it up is so much worse. Happens to me all the time.
Aye, that's fair enough. I was curious 'cause of not knowing of their anti-tramness, thus from the story it seeming that they'd abstained then voted for it, and none of the faffing about would've happened if they'd just voted for it in the first place.
